Thank you for applying for an Art Scholarship. We do not require supporting references for this art scholarship application and there is nothing more that you need to do at present. The submission date for art portfolios is Tuesday 7 January 2020 and you will be sent submission instructions in December.

Candidates should show evidence of real musical ability and offer at least two instruments, or voice and one instrument. It is not essential for candidates to have taken music examinations but, as a guide, the standard expected on the principle instrument corresponds with Grade V.

Those interested in applying for an audition are encouraged to attend a special Open Morning for Potential Music Scholars. Please see the School website for details.

Auditions will take place on Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th January 2020 and applicants are asked to make a note of these dates now to avoid clashes with other commitments. Candidates will be asked to play two short, but contrasting, pieces on their principal instrument and to play one other piece on their second instrument. Sight reading tests will be given on the candidate’s principal instrument, and ear tests will be given on pitch, rhythm and general aural response. Candidates will be asked to sing a song of their own choice and to talk about their musical and general interests. Please note that not all candidates who apply will be called for audition.

Thank you for applying for a Sports Scholarship. Your child will participate in 2 sports at the sports scholarship assessment day. Please select two sports from the following list in order of preference: basketball (boys)/netball (girls), cricket, football, hockey, swimming & water polo. Note that children who choose swimming / water polo as one of their options must be able to swim at least 200 metres and use two or more different strokes.

Please use this space to tell us about the sports your child plays at representative level outside of school; include information about the two sports which have been selected for the assessment day.

We do not require supporting references for this sports scholarship application and there is nothing more that you need to do at present. The sports scholarship assessment will take place on Tuesday 3rd December 2019 for girls and on Wednesday 4th December 2019 for boys. You will be sent instructions in November.

The registration period will close at midday on Friday 16th November 2018. We are unable to accept any applications received after this deadline.

Registration Fee

Non-refundable fee for registration and examination £100; application from abroad £200.

If your child qualifies dor the Pupil Premium, please tick the box in the Final Confirmation section below; the registration fee is not payable in these circumstances but we will ask you to provide us with documentation to confirm the Pupil Premium status.

Entrance Examinations and Interviews

Please note that your child will sit the entrance examination at Alleyn’s School. By registering, you confirm that your child is available to attend Alleyn’s on the published examination, assessment, audition and interview dates. Please contact the registrar if there are any subsequent problems with your child’s availability on these dates.

We do not divulge the results of the entrance examinatiions.


Most 11+ admissions communications will be sent via email. We will use the email address you have provided for Parent 1. Please check this email address regularly during the admissions process.

  1. we will contact your child's current or previous school to ask for a reference;
  2. Special Educational Needs information will be used to ensure that we have made any reasonable adjustments/suitable arrangements for your child when they visit the School or during any entrance assessments and subsequently if they are offered a place.

If your child is not offered a place, or if you do not accept the offer of a place, we will not retain this information after the end of the admissions process.

Final Confirmation

Please indicate if your child qualifies for the Pupil Premium. The registration fee is not payable in these circumstances but you will need to provide documentation confirming this.
