Thank you for applying for an Art Scholarship. We do not require supporting references for this art scholarship application and there is nothing more that you need to do at present. The submission date for art portfolios is Tuesday 7 January 2020 and you will be sent submission instructions in December.

Candidates should show evidence of real musical ability and offer at least two instruments, or voice and one instrument. It is not essential for candidates to have taken music examinations but, as a guide, the standard expected on the principle instrument corresponds with Grade V.

Those interested in applying for an audition are encouraged to attend a special Open Morning for Potential Music Scholars. Please see the School website for details.

Auditions will take place on Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th January 2020 and applicants are asked to make a note of these dates now to avoid clashes with other commitments. Candidates will be asked to play two short, but contrasting, pieces on their principal instrument and to play one other piece on their second instrument. Sight reading tests will be given on the candidate’s principal instrument, and ear tests will be given on pitch, rhythm and general aural response. Candidates will be asked to sing a song of their own choice and to talk about their musical and general interests. Please note that not all candidates who apply will be called for audition.

Please provide the following information:

Principal Instrument

Second Instrument

Please provide any other information which might be helpful, including solo, chamber, orchestral and choral experience, theory exam passes, other musical achievements, activities and special interests.

To complete this application for a Music Scholarship audition, you must also provide a written recommendation from your child’s instrumental teacher(s) and, where relevant, their current school’s Head of Music. Please gather this information and email it, no later than Friday 8th November, to: registrar@alleyns.org.uk

Candidates selected for audition will receive further details shortly before Christmas.

Thank you for applying for a Sports Scholarship. Your child will participate in 2 sports at the sports scholarship assessment day. Note that children who choose swimming / water polo as one of their options must be able to swim at least 200 metres and use two or more different strokes.

Please use this space to tell us about the sports your child plays at representative level outside of school; include information about the two sports which have been selected for the assessment day.

The sports scholarship assessment will take place on Tuesday 3rd December 2019 for girls and on Wednesday 4th December 2019 for boys. You will be sent instructions in November.
